My Twilight Party

Yes!!! I have been bitten!!!

Ok so I just have to tell all of you the whole story just in case some of you have not heard it already. So a few weeks ago my door bell rang at 9:30 pm. I opened the door to a guy in a tux who delivered me a party invitation on a silver tray with an apple. The invitation was just as nice as any wedding invitation. (See Below)

Bret left Friday night for Twin and took the girls with him. So I had 30 hours of girl time. Wow!!! what an amazing husband. Anyway my friend Nichole and I started our party off with getting our nails painted at 1:00 at JC Penney. Black of course with red flowers. Then we car pooled with a few others and went to Chillis for apetizers and virgin drinks. We then headed to the parking lot to await our LIMO!! The limo's took us to the party which was Macina Price's home. She must have spent days getting her home ready for this. Furniture was moved out to provide more room. All the pictures were replaced with Twilight posters and vinyl lettering sayings. There was a room to get the bite mark tatoos and nails painted. Men in Tux's served us treats and drinks before and after the party. 225 girls attended this party by the way!!!!!!!!

Chilli's

oops they posted out of order. Anyways this is us at the Theatre

My Twilight Treasures!!! So upon ariving, we get a T-shirt and a gift bag. Inside were so many cute Twilight Treasures. They went to a lot of effort to get all these surprises. There was an umbrella, a mug, "a Highlighter for a Twilighter", "A kiss from Edward" mint, A Forks Highschool Biology 101 notepad, Twilight trading cards, vampire teeth, and business discount cards. I was very impressed and love my treasures. She also had red apples in bowls all over her house that had vinyl Twilight lettering on them. I can't believe the time put into this.

This is Nichole and in the middle my friend Jodi. Her sister is Macina who hosted the party. They had made a question and answer video clip about the book that they played opn the big screen while everyone was showing up. Then they created their own preview about a normal house wife who became obsessed with the book and started ignoring her household and motherhood duties. It then showed her starting to think of guys on the street as possible vampires. Bret was one of these guys in the movie. He feels famous now for being on the big screen. Jodi was the girl in the movie. It ended with her sister Macina waking up thinking someone was in her room, her husband telling her it was just the books and that all was ok, giving her a hug. Then his eyes turned red!!! Very Cute!!
Then prior to the movie starting they did a little skit. Jodi was Bella, Macina's husband was Edward, and they had a Jacob. I have to admit Edward looked so good and all the girls were asking him to bite our necks for pictures since we all had the bite mark tatoo. He was a great sport and so was Macina for allowing us to all borrow her husband for the night.

Us with the Edward look a like!!! He colored his hair and even wore make-up for this. What a man!!!!

Playing with my Umbrella.
Oh and Stephanie Meyers Aunt lives her in Pocatello and owns Papa Kelseys. Her Aunt and her husband were at our party and told stories of Stephanie Meyer when she was little. It was fun.
Well that was my party. It was well worth the $40, infact I think they better charge more next year.
Thanks Macina and Jodi and all. I loved it. Already looking forward to New Moon.

Halloween - A little Late

Ok I know I am two weeks late but my mom is insisting so here are the halloween pics.

Ellie was a go-go-girl and loved her costume. Anything that makes her feel pretty!!! And...she did look beautiful.
She played her role all too well!!

Our Pirate was trying to walk the plank...

We didn't carve pumkins until the Wednesday before Halloween. I almost bagged it but then decided the kids deserved a little fun and some time with mommy. They haven't got much of that lately with me spending all my spare time in the basement painting. I was so happy I did take the time to do this. We had so much fun and Brylee just loved it. She had her own LITTLE pumkin and she took all the insides out herself. She would get it clean, exclaim, "Mommy I did it," then she would put all the stuff back inside the pumkin and start all over. She cleaned her pumpkin out at least five times. She helped me decide what shapes she wanted the face features and each time I cut one out she would say, "Mommy, you did it, good job!" She was so excited and even more so when we lit them.

Brylee proud of her pumkin!!!!

The Holidays

Well first of all, the entire Scherer family is coming to our house for Thanksgiving this year. So we HAVE to have our basement at least partially finished. We have made a lot of trips to Lowes and hope to be painting by the end of next week. Just in case anyone wants to come help!!! Just kidding. But...I would like some ideas of fun things to do for Thanksgiving. I have some cool ideas for centerpieces and name place settings. But if you know of cool recipes or fun family activities to do for Thanksgiving I would love some ideas. Bret said the other day, "I want our family to have a lot of fun." Even his sister from California is coming and this is Pocatello so if you have any ideas to help me make it fun, please share.

Also we are planning to have Ellie's Baptism and Leslie's Baby blessing together that first weekend in January, the 3rd. We thought us Peck's could all get together then and exchange Christmas gifts or just hang out. We will have plenty of space because the basement will be done (well two rooms won't be finished but they will have beds). I am sure we could also use Gigi and Steven's house. So if you want to come, put it on your calendar.

Love you all

Cancun Mexico

So not many know this but I recently returned from an adult-only all-inclusive resort vacation to Cancun Mexico. I went with my friend Nichole Rammell whom I have known since Kindergarten. She is currently my neighbor and we are great friends. We have been planning a trip like this for a while now but it never seemed to happened. Then the right opportunity came around so we just went. It was the most amazing trip I have ever been on. I read three books and almost finished a forth. We had a lot of fun but also relaxed a lot. It was exactly what I needed. Bret did awesome with the girls, he even had to clean up a lot of puke because they all caught the flu. I am so grateful to Bret for encouraging me to go on this trip.

We went parasailing/sky-riding and the views were incredible. I loved every bit of it. They asked us if we wanted a splash when we came down. We said "sure" not exactly knowing what that entailed. So when they brought us down, they brought us down fast and we crashed into the ocean. That was the splash and it was so unexpected the first time. Then it happened again!! It was awesome!!!!!
We took a boat over to Isla Mujeres (The Island of women). They let me drive the boat. When we got there we went snorkeling and saw the most colorful fish I have ever seen. I also saw a Baracuda and our guide caught a lobster which I got to play with.
When our boat docked they had a fenced off area next to the dock with a Nurse Shark. They let us swim with it and hold it. It was pretty crazy. it was really strong and took me off gaurd.
We rented a golf cart and drove around the island. We went to a turtle farm which I loved because turtles are my favorite.
This is the view of our resort from our hotel room balcony. We had incredible views and the resort was amazing. I am done cruising!! An all-inclusive resort was so much better and I can't wait to go again. I think bret and I are going back here next May/June for our 10-year anniversary if anyone wants to join us.

Weekend at Grandma Peck's House

Okay so first of all I apologize for not posting for a few weeks, or has it been months???? The summer was not long enough for me to become a blogger adict so when school started, blogging was the first to get ignored.

Bret had to go to Minneapolis for a training session for his work so the girls and I went to Grandma and Grandpa Peck's house for the weekend. Jeff and Leslie also came down and we celebrated Leslie's big 27th birthday Saturday night with icecream cake. We helped Les tie a quilt for Christmas. I think she is so happy to have that project done! We also got a lot of card playing in with the littlle bros and Dad.

Grandma and Grandpa have a new horse and of course this was the highlight of the weekend. Kaylee and Brylee gave Grandma a big hug as a thank you!!!

Have you decided to name him Dancer Mom??
Of Course Ellie had to drive the 4-wheeler
Kisses goodbye!!! We love you Grandpa and Grandma. Thanks for a fun weekend.

Vader - What should we do

Well my girls have been begging me for years to get a puppy. And you know how much Brylee loves dogs. I kept putting it off because I really didn't want to deal with the extra "child" and all the extra work and responsibility that comes with it. But we saw this little pug at the pet store and we fell in love with him including Bret which is just odd. So we just bought him on a whim (Wednesday) and adored him for four days until he started having diarrhea(Sunday). We were in Twin Falls and a lady at the pet store said it might be Parvo. Searching the Internet for a few minutes convinced me I needed to take our little Vader (his name) to a Vet. So I drove him to Buhl and yes he had Parvo. Parvo is a fatal virus if not treating immediately and even if treated it may still be fatal. We left vader at the Vet and came home to Pocatello. The vet had hopes for Vader all week and even Thursday afternoon told me he could go home Friday or Saturday. So Friday morning we headed to Twin to go through the temple and get our puppy. Ellie was so excited. We got to Burley when the vet called with news that Vader had passed away. Ellie cried forever and made me promise her we would get another puppy. This little puppy was seriously the cutest thing, so playful and so fun.

The pet store will either refund our money (and pay the vet bill) or get us a new puppy. However, this virus stays on our property for years. We can't bring a puppy home until it has had three shots and even then it may still get Parvo, not likely but possibly. My girls are devastated and really want another puppy. Do I get one?

So friday morning, July 25th, we rented a van and drove to San Diego for a family vacation. I don't think it should be called a family VACATION. I do not feel like I have had a vacation. I feel like I need a vacation. I think a vacation can only occur when you leave the kids with grandma amnd grandpa! It was great fun and I loved spending the time with the girls, but I am exhausted. Our friends, Sean and Nichole Rammell also drove down with us. They have three girls all between Ellie and Brylee's ages. So the five girls had so much fun together. We stayed in St. George on the way down and Vega on the way back. Nichole also brought her 15 year old sister and cousin to help with the kids. They were great and even watched the kids sleep in the hotel room a couple nights so us four could go out. We went to Rockin' Baha for a bucket of seafood one night without the kids. In Vegas, we hit the casinos. It was my first ever gambling experience. Bret and I each took a $20 bill. Nichole convinced me to play the slots and Bret and Sean hit the tables. I lost all $20 in less than a half hour. Gambling is not for me!! I found Bret and he was up to $35. He gave me his chips so I could try the tables. I lost it all except for $1. Bret placed it on a table and we were about to walk away when we realized he won $40. So we cashed out and walked away with $41. We actually one a buck. I think next time I will just watch Bret play. We will have much better luck. I told the man at the table it was my first time gambling and he asked it I just turned 21. Since I turned 30 today I felt like kissing him. (not really) I laughed.

You can see it took a lot to entertain Brylee in the car. Sunglasses, dolls, and a movie all at once. Actually she did very well in the car to our surprise.
We stayed at Town and Country Inn at Hotel Circle. The pool was a hit. We went swimming almost every day. Ellie is becomming quite the little swimmer. She dives, does hand-stands, tries to flip adn loves the deep-end. It is nice to have her so independent in the water and not have to worry so much. Brylee on the other hand THINKS she can swim. Bret and I would stand about 10 feet apart and I would shove Brylee towards Bret. She would dive in kicking and throwing her arms until Bret pulled her up. She would come up, catch her breath, push the hair out of her eyes and say again as she dove back in towards me. She was crazy!!
All five little girls at the hotel. Anna is a year younger the Ellie and Allyssa is just older than Brylee. Aubree is 4 and sometimes feels left out but they all got along very well considering. Ellie was completely occupied with her friends and had little time for mom and dad on this trip. I felt like the only time I saw her was in our hotel room at night. She also hated posing for a picture, which is unheard of. She got so annoyed with me whenever I asked her to take a picture with me that she started refusing to smile. So I eventually gave up and just took pictures of Brylee. Does this mean Ellie is growing up?? I hope not.
We went to Sea Port Village our first day in San Diego. (Ellie wasn't too annoyed yet). This is always a great place to visit. The shops are so fun and the music was great. The three older girls danced to the bands and just had a great time. A man even made them all roses from palm leaves for free because he thought they were so cute.
This dog was taking a rest in Sea Port Village and Brylee went right up to it and layed on it. I am trying to teach her to not just walk up and hug dogs for her own safety but she is truly an animal lover and she can't be stopped. Luckily this dog was so sweet and his owners just got a kick out of Brylee. She gave it kisses and hugs and layed with it for 10 minutes.

More of our vacation

Brylee loved the rides and was not scared at all. This one was at Sea World. When the ride would get a little wild she would say, "Oh my goodness." It was so cute and I had so much fun riding rides with her.
This picture is outside the M&M shop in Las Vegas. We had to go in and buy the kids some M&Ms. Each kids got to fill their own bag with whatever colors they wanted. Ellie thought this was great because they had lots of pinks and purples. I was surprised but they didn't even melt in the horrible Las Vegas heat. And...it was HOT!!!!
We went to the Rain Forest Cafe for dinner in Vegas. They sat us right below the crazy, shaking, loud gorillas. It felt like a true rain forest every 10 minutes. We had a Nemo ballon made for Byrlee. Anything...to keep her happy.
Bret and Brylee were watching one of Sea Worlds shows. Brylee loved the shows and clapped and cheered the whole time.

Legoland California

Legoland was, by far, our favorite place we went. It is an amazing amusement park and more child-friendly than any place I have been. When you got in line for a ride, one adult could hold your place in line while the other adult took the kids into a lego-play area. Then they had a gate that allowed you to go directly to the front of the line when it was your turn to ride. Trying to keep Brylee in line for 45 minutes was impossible so this idea alone made me LOVE Legoland. It also had four large playgrounds that were just incredible for the kids to play in. There was so much to do and see that it didn't feel too crowded or crazy. It was just FUN!!!
Spongebob made out of Legos. Of course my girls wanted a picture. Every character you can imagined were made out of Legos, some contained hundreds of thousands of Legos. They were very impressive.
The had created a mini-USA with every major city and momument. So much detail was in these creations. Even the kids loved looking at them. Behind us here is the capital building.
For several years now Ellie has wanted to go to France to see the Eiffel Tower. She learned about it in pre-school once. So she thought it was neat to see it out of Legos.
The Statue of Liberty and part of the New York City display.

Peck Family Reunion

These are my favorite photos from the Peck Reunion. We went camping at a five star camp ground in Star Valley. We had a pool, bumper boats, showers, etc. If you want to see more visit Leslie's blog. I'm sure Keysha will be posting some as well.
Kaylee and Brylee all dressed up and playing with their "Plumbers". Leslie kept Plumber (our hampster) for us when we went to the Scherer reunion and ever since Kaylee has been wanting Plumber back. She called Brylee once and said, "I had Plumber first." So I found these ty.com hampster beanies that look just like plumber. They are awesome. Both Kaylee and Brylee love them and call them Plumber. They are much better than the real thing because I don't have to worry about Brylee killing or losing it.

My little family at Periodic Springs. This was really a pretty place.

My mom and dad playing the rubber band game during Survivor! We had to get the rubber bands around our necks using only our faces, not even mouths. Dad looked so funny because he has almost no bones/cartlidge left in his nose due to breaks that the rubber band basically flatened his nose.
Also during Survivor the boys had to try and take off the other's shoes. The man left with his shoes on won. It got down to bret and my dad and dad won. Bret said afterwards, "Your Dad is STRONG." You still got it Dad!!!
Brylee would not stay close to camp and kept running away. It seemed like I was always looking for Brylee so when she decided the fire pit looked like a sandbox we were actually relieved that she stayed put for almost an hour....until I had to clean her up!!!

Ellie's Bedroom

Ok Kami this is Ellie's bedroom. She loves it and isn't scared about being the only one sleeping in the basement. She feels like a princess in her canopy bed. Can you see the lights along her head-board? They are rod-iron butterflies. She uses them as her night-light. They are so cute.
I didn't get a good picture of the window but it has a cute little seat and we put up wayne's coat all along that wall.
Kami you would be proud. I made Ellie's name and put paper on the letters. It turned out ok. You can't really see them in this picture but they are on the shelf.

I also made this. I used one of the canvas' Nana gave me. Ellie glued on all the flowers.

We are going to build her a desk by the door under those shelves. I also gave her my Madame Alexander dolls which she has been wanting for years. She feels very special.
